Eagle County Regional Airport

Eagle Airport [airport code is EGE] is about 20-30 minutes from Edwards. You can rent a car or arrange for a shuttle service via Epic Mountain Express. They can take your from the airport to your hotel. Eagle Airport is very convenient, but it's a smaller airport and flights tend to be more expensive. Denver International [DIA] is another good option with rental cars and shuttles available.

Denver International Airport [DEN] offers many more options in terms of direct nonstop routes for flights. Since it will be summertime, driving from Denver to Edwards is a great option if you choose to fly into Denver Airport. The drive takes about 2-2.5 hours, and has incredible views of the mountains and historic mines of Colorado. We recommend getting an express lane pass if you rent a car [they will offer this at the rental place], as the drive back can sometimes be a bit congested. It has definitely saved us on a few Sunday afternoon returns to Denver. You can also fly into Denver and take a connecting flight to Eagle Airport as well.

TRAVEL TIP: If you are sensitive or new to being in high altitudes, we recommend flying to Denver a day early and spending the night in Boulder before heading up to Edwards. It’s a good way to acclimate to the high altitude a bit more slowly and allows your body to adjust. If you have the time to come early- we have found that this is the easiest way to adjust.
